Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is employed by ESPN and is the SportsCenter anchor for news. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Following this she was hired by her CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. After 2009, the news reporter relocated into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs in both Texas as well as Mexico. She would also fill in at times as a news and sport anchor. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The same job was held for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. Her older sister is also hers. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In the course of a few months, her father divorced from her mother and she was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. At the end of the day she was enthralled with the university. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. Her studies were completed and she was accepted into the University as a major of media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was her friend. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
